CENTER FOR DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM

New Policy for Better Governance

About Us

~

The Center for Democratic Socialism aims to transform the way Americans view, engage, and think about policy. Our current two-party political system has primarily focused on centrism and economic growth as core policy drivers while neglecting how these policies affect a multicultural America. We believe this method of governance has failed us and resulted in an increasingly unequal society.

Therefore, our research focuses on promoting policy that defends democracy, strengthens the rule of law, and creates a socioeconomic system that is just and equal for all.

The Center for Democratic Socialism believes that all policy, domestic and foreign, should have the singular goal of helping people thrive.

About
Our Work

People First Policy

~
Reforming Politics
All policy starts at the ballot box. The Center for Democratic Socialism promotes a reforming of American politics through strong campaign finance regulations and a public elections finance system. A majority of the American public believes that our current political system has become too expensive and corporations exert too much control over politics; contrary to Citizens United, corporations are not people. Thus, Our advocacy focuses on how to reduce dependence on big money donations and creating a system that priorities people first.

Community Partnerships
The Center for Democratic Socialism is dedicated to community partnerships. We value interaction from the community about what democracy should look and be in 21st century America; all policy from the local to the national level affects the course of our democracy. Therefore, we offer free policy research for local communities, small businesses, and corporations. This research focuses on the implementation of democratic policy and how to create a more just community.
Education for All
The restoration of the middle class and the closing of wealth gaps require America to reinvest in education. The Center for Democratic Socialism believes that education is a right, not a privilege and we are committed to debt free education. In a 21st century economy, the lack of education whether through a collegiate degree or advanced skills based vocational training increases the likelihood of underpaid work, worker shortages, and an increase in wealth gaps by gender and race.
Medicare for All
No American should worry about how to pay for their medical expenses. The Center for Democratic Socialism supports a tax-payer funded public healthcare option. The United States is the only country in North America without Universal Healthcare. Americans deserve access to better healthcare.
Democratic Socialist Domestic and Foreign Policy
Democratic Socialist Foreign Policy marks a complete reversal from the established United States National Security Policy. We believe American efforts over the last decade that advocated for military first approaches have seriously threatened the security of the United States and our global community. Therefore, our foreign policy research focuses on multilateralism, multiculturalism, democracy strengthening through direct economic investment and diplomacy, human rights protections, and military operations as a last resort.

A Poem To Palestine

Palestine, Land of Endless Grace

Beneath the sky so vast and wide,
Where olive trees in silence bide,
A land of beauty, rich and deep,
Where stories in the hills still sleep.

The Jordan’s flow, so pure, so free,
Reflects the land’s old memory,
Its waters whisper, soft and low,
Of ancient times, of love and woe.

The fields of Gaza kiss the tide,
Where waves and golden shores reside,
And laughter dances on the breeze,
Among the swaying orange trees.

Jerusalem, so proud, so wise,
A jewel beneath the sacred skies,
Its streets are paved with whispered prayer,
A beacon bright beyond compare.

Through valleys green and mountains tall,
The heart of Palestine stands all,
